How to apply

For Individuals

We have different ways you can apply for a grant. As a small trust it is difficult for Trustees to deal directly with individual applicants. Therefore, applications are only accepted from recognised referral agencies that are willing to act as the sponsoring or referral organisation for the individual’s application.

Once a complete application form has been received it is checked for eligibility. Trustees meet four times per annum usually in mid-March, mid-June, mid-September and mid-December. The latest a completed applications should be received is two weeks before the Trustees meeting. Applications are considered at the Trustees meeting and a decision is communicated to the applicant and sponsoring organisation no longer than two weeks after the meeting.

Successful applicants are expected to provide receipts for purchases of goods made with the grant given. The Trustees expect that sponsoring organisations will take some responsibility to ensure that the grant is used for the purpose for which it was given. The sponsoring or referral organisation reference form can be downloaded here.

If as an individual applicant you are not currently working with a referral or sponsoring organisation, then to identify organisations that could act in this capacity and undertake an assessment of your needs and help you make an application please click here.
